My Writing Process & my character’s birthdays- The unusual way I picked them, plus using Astrology & Tarot to write.

Using Astrology or Tarot to write is nothing new. Several books and blog posts are devoted to this process, so I won’t go into depth about it here. However, this post will discuss how I use them to write and my specific processes for putting together my stories.

First, I didn’t use specific writing techniques, suggestions, or layouts to write my books. While I have seen plenty of authors doing this, I just can’t. It KILLS the creativity in me. I would much rather spend my time writing and creating than using hours to post 500 sticky notes across my walls, trying to pre-plan every last detail or getting overly technical. I’m a very “organic” writer who prefers to go with the flow. When I relax and get into a meditative state, I do my best work. Unfortunately, sometimes, this happens in the middle of the night, which is frustrating as hell, especially when you have to be alert to get things done the next day!

When I first began writing, I was overwhelmed. I had many amazing things recorded in my dream journals, but I needed to figure out where to start. This is when I pulled out one of my favorite tarot decks and a very picturesque oracle deck, got centered, and asked what I should do. It was hilarious because the cards I pulled showed dream-like imagery reminiscent of one of the dreams I had recorded! Of course, I went with it, and my first chapter was born. After chapter one, I didn’t use them again. I didn’t need to. I just needed the clarity and pat on the back from my guides to set me off in the correct direction, and then I was good to go.

Then came picking the birthdates of my characters. I didn’t use tarot or oracle for this but channeled them through meditation! I would receive images not only of the characters but also their dates of birth. After I wrote them down, I crafted a natal chart. The first character’s birthdate that came to me was Erik’s, and I was blown away. The more I wrote him, the more I saw the psychology come through from his chart! It was amazing. Then, I created a composite chart with his chart and Raeanna’s. I was shocked at how utterly beautiful and perfect these two were together—the ideal match.

That being said, there is something I would like to emphasize here. NO COMPOSITE OR SYNASTRY CHART IS WITHOUT OBSTICLES! And there is an excellent reason for this! When people come together in any relationship, there will be challenges! THIS IS FOR YOUR GROWTH! It is for learning! HENCE, the reason you came together in the first place! This is very evident throughout my books.

When channeling the various characters, I noticed some inconsistencies in generational ages. I ignored this. The point of the birthday was to get a look into the character’s psychology, not to be completely anal or a stickler for details about how old the person was when they gave birth, etc. That is irrelevant! THIS IS A FICTION BOOK, not a historical recording of fact! I found it fascinating that the years of birth that came up while channeling were on par with that specific character’s psychological makeup. The fundamental beliefs and what they wanted fit perfectly into their outer planetary placements.

Astrology is ancient psychology. It is looking into the soul DNA of an individual! This is how ancient cultures would apply remedies to specific individuals to fix issues and heal illnesses. Where do you think the Rx comes from when dealing with doctors and medicine? IT’S AN ASTROLGY TERM FOLKS! Rx is RETROGRADE, and when people have an Rx in their charts, this is where medicine and healing should be applied!

It was also fun to see the character’s natal placements unfold as I wrote them. I didn’t sit down and study each chart after it was channeled, spending hours scrutinizing them, no! I just wrote, and after weeks, I would revisit the chart and be surprised every time! The more I wrote, the more they came to life.

Every writer has a specific process for writing. Some are pretty technical and organized, while others are not. This doesn’t matter in the end; what matters is the quality of work they produce and whether it makes them feel good! My process involves crossing the veil and trusting in my guides to help me along the way. After all, I’m a Pisces and have water signs on my career houses. This has everything to do with trust and faith.
